Frequently asked questions
Which addictions can Addiction Breaker help with?
Smoking, vaping, alcohol, cannabis, gambling, sugar, food, phone and social media, video games, shopping and more: there are 20+ options plus a custom one. You can track more than one at once.
How is it different from a habit tracker?
A habit tracker counts days. Addiction Breaker works on what lies underneath: what happens in your brain during the process, how to beat a craving in the moment, what to do after a relapse and how to handle the emotions behind it.
Which languages is it available in?
English and Spanish. The app automatically detects your phone’s language.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Open the app and start. Your journal and progress are stored on your phone.
Can anyone tell I’m using it?
The icon and notifications are discreet, and the community is anonymous: only a random ID and your streak days are shared.
What happens if I relapse?
You get 3 chances. On the 1st and 2nd slip you note what happened and carry on. On the 3rd, you start over with what you’ve learned.
Does Addiction Breaker replace a doctor or treatment?
No. Quitting an addiction requires medical or professional advice. Addiction Breaker is only a habit-tracking tool with an advanced methodology: it helps you get organized, log your progress and get support in hard moments, but it does not diagnose or treat any condition and never replaces diagnosis or treatment by a doctor or specialist. If you have strong withdrawal symptoms, use alcohol or other substances daily, or have thoughts of harming yourself, talk to a professional before you start.
Does Psych AI replace a psychologist?
No. It’s an AI assistant that supports you at any hour. It doesn’t diagnose or treat. If you need it, seek professional help; the PDF report can be useful.
When is it coming out?
